Drunk driving accidents are senseless acts of violence that should not be happening. According to the Center for Disease Control, in the United States, drunk drivers kill almost 30 people daily, which amounts to one death every 48 minutes. Sadly, before someone has been arrested for drunk driving, they have probably driven drunk at least 80 times previously.
People who choose to drink and drive needlessly put others at risk of injury or death and they need to be held responsible for their actions. Additional liability should also be placed on those who provided the alcohol to a driver who later injures or kills someone in a drunk driving accident.
